A boat carrying an unknown variety of migrants from Turkey to Greece sank on Thursday early morning off Samos in the Aegean Sea, leaving 4 travelers dead.
According to reports, 2 children and two women died in the event.
The coast guard rescued 16 survivors from the boat which sank after crashing into rocks.
Authorities did not however reveal the nationalities of the migrants involved.This was the second deadly shipwreck to happen off the eastern Aegean island today, after another boat sank in the area on Monday, triggering the death of another six kids and 2 women.
In Monday&& s incident, 39 individuals made it through, though it was also unclear how many guests were on the boat when it set sail from Turkey.Police have not yet divulged the citizenships of the casualties.
